Fall Theatre


Join us this October, as the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site is unexpectedly beset by a host of history's most villanioius villains. Just when the world thought it was rid of Lizzie Borden, Sweeney Todd, H.H. Holmes and Jack the Ripper, a local team of crime scene investigators have discovered a nefarious plot to bring them back to life!

In this frightful performance of Victorian Villains, guests will partner with their crime scene handler to uncover the sordid tales of the villains. Are you ready to face these fiendish creators of chaos and carnage, so that we can learn from their twisted and tormented minds to protect society as we know it…before it’s too late?!

This progressive play starts every half-hour on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00-8:30pm. Sunday's performances begin at 2:00pm.  Each performance lasts over one hour.  For more information, click here or call 317-631-1888.

Civil War Dinners

Winter Theatre

Gather your family close and join the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site in creating new holiday memories at a special Candlelight Theatre event! "Twas the Night Before...", written by James Trofatter, offers a heatrwarming interactive theatre experience for all ages in the historic Harrison mansion, visiting holiday figures from tradition and folklore, as well as new jolly friends. Make your reservations early for this festive holiday performance!

The Harrisons discuss their lives both as Indianapolis residents and as White House residents, while their dedicated staff share family secrets with guests. Spring Theatre

play2 lg 2Victorian Theatre by Candlelight presents a trilogy of one-act plays adapted and presented salon-style in historic rooms of the President's mansion.  As a group, the audience rotates to different rooms  to experiences all three plays.  Curtain is at 8:00pm on Fridays/Saturdays and 2:00pm on Sunday matinees.  For more information, please call 317-631-1888.

A Walking Tour of Delaware Street


Benjamin Harrison's move to Delaware Street in 1875, and that of many city leaders and captains of industry (i.e. John Schmidt), made Delaware Street a desired place to live in Indianapolis.  Now known as the Old Northside, this area was home to author Meredith Nicholson, the meeting place of suffragette May Wright Sewall, the residence of Charleston Eden—founder of the first indoor mall in America.
