What happens at the Wicket World of Croquet® event?

80 players—dressed in white—will be greeted warmly by the President will join the Queen of Hearts on the dew-kissed, double-cut south lawn of the President’s home. Each of 40 teams enjoys at least four rounds of play, as progress is tracked on a scoreboard. They plan and plot their strategy to save their "heads" in order to defeat the Queen and of course reach the quarter-finals, semi-finals and then the championship round, envisioning their names emblazoned on the coveted trophy. The SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) color guard presents the flags—especially appropriate on the weekend of Flag Day because Benjamin Harrison commissioned the flying of the American Flag at public buildings and schools. Event chairman Steve Campbell highlights the rules governing play, and each court judge assumes his post on one of the 16 courts. Players find their partners and eagerly take the field. Be sure to visit Alice in "Shoot the Wicket" Wonderland on one of your team byes. She might need help finding the white rabbit. Be sure to see the King of Hearts for your many pardons!

Spectators are most welcome to watch the tournament and enjoy the other activities offered that day. (Visitor lunch reservations and payment of $12 each are required by June 7.)
